Rural TV sprang from research on North Carolina communities. Almost all of North Carolina’s counties are considered rural. Half of the state doesn’t have access to public broadcasting (radio and television). Another issue is that public television isn’t as interesting as it could be with schedules not fitting the lifestyle of rural peoples.
Rural communities with limited access to internet, public radio, and public tv need media catered to them. Rural TV aims to do this.
Rural TV is a hypothetical publicly funded broadcasting network created to inspire North Carolina to revitalize rural communities by providing informative and engaging programming.
